The “Yoga for Healing” program for mothers raising children and adults with disabilities is a social service designed to support women’s physical health, emotional recovery, and inner well-being while living under constant caregiving responsibilities, stress, and emotional pressure.
Motherhood in families where there is a child or adult with a disability is often accompanied by chronic fatigue, emotional exhaustion, anxiety, and the constant need to remain strong. Many women spend years living in a state of continuous caregiving, gradually losing connection with their own bodies, emotions, and personal needs. That is why the “Yoga for Healing” program was created as a safe and supportive space where women can pause, breathe, and reconnect with themselves.
The sessions combine gentle physical exercises, breathing techniques, meditation elements, and body-awareness practices that help reduce internal tension, restore connection with the body, and stabilise emotional well-being. It is important to us that every participant feels safe, supported, and able to move at her own pace without pressure or expectations to “perform” or achieve perfect results.
In this program, yoga is not about athletic achievement or perfect postures. It is about self-care, gentle recovery, inner stability, and the opportunity, even for a short time, to exist not only as a “mother” or “caregiver,” but simply as a woman who also deserves care, calm, and emotional support.
The goals of the therapy include:
- strengthening core muscles, flexibility, and balance;
- reducing stress, anxiety, and emotional exhaustion;
- improving respiratory and cardiovascular health;
- reducing physical tension and pain in the back, neck, and joints;
- developing mindfulness, inner balance, and emotional well-being;
- supporting nervous system regulation and improving sleep quality;
- restoring energy, vitality, and inner emotional resources;
- strengthening the ability to care for children and adults with disabilities without reaching complete exhaustion.
During the sessions, women gradually learn to better understand their bodies, recognise their emotions, and respond to their own needs without guilt. Very often, accumulated fatigue, anxiety, and emotional tension are carried within the body itself, and yoga practice helps gently release this internal burden.
A particularly valuable aspect of the program is the atmosphere of support and acceptance that develops among participants. It is a space where women do not need to hide their exhaustion or constantly appear “strong.” Instead, they are able to be themselves, experience calm, receive support from other women, and realize that they are not alone in their experiences.
For many mothers, these sessions become not only a physical practice but also a moment of emotional restoration – a chance to feel alive, valuable, and important beyond the role of caregiver.
Regular “Yoga for Healing” sessions contribute to the restoration of physical and emotional resources, improved overall well-being, and better quality of life. They help women maintain emotional resilience, self-care, and the ability to support their families with greater calm, strength, and compassion.
Most importantly, this program reminds women that caring for themselves is not a luxury but an essential foundation for health, life, and the ability to continue giving warmth, love, and support to those closest to them.
