The psychological therapy programme “The Path of the Inner Woman” is a social service designed to provide psychological support, emotional recovery, and personal growth for mothers raising children and adults with disabilities.
The life of a woman who provides daily care for a child or adult with a disability is often filled with significant emotional and physical strain, constant responsibility, anxiety, exhaustion, and the ongoing need to remain strong regardless of her own emotional state. Very often, within this daily struggle, a woman gradually puts aside her own needs, emotions, dreams, and sense of self.
“The Path of the Inner Woman” was created as a safe and supportive space where women can pause, breathe, feel heard, and experience support without judgement or the need to hide their emotions. It is a place where women can openly speak about exhaustion, fear, helplessness, guilt, loneliness, hope, and love — about everything that often remains hidden inside and unseen by others.
Through the programme, women are given the opportunity to better understand their emotions, recognise their own needs, reconnect with inner resources, and gradually restore emotional balance. Particular attention is given to developing self-support skills, emotional resilience, and a more compassionate relationship with oneself.
The goals of the therapy include:
- supporting emotional well-being and reducing stress;
- developing self-regulation and emotional resilience skills;
- recognising personal strengths, value, and inner potential;
- fostering inner balance and personal growth;
- supporting a woman’s identity beyond the role of “mother” or “caregiver”;
- strengthening confidence in personal abilities and the capacity to support one’s family;
- reducing emotional exhaustion and preventing psychological burnout;
- creating a space for mutual support, shared experiences, and social inclusion.
The programme incorporates elements of psychological support, art therapy, body-based practices, reflection, group interaction, and emotional awareness exercises. Equally important to the therapeutic process itself is the atmosphere of trust, acceptance, and women’s support that develops among participants.
For many mothers, this programme becomes the first space in a long time where they are able to exist not only as “strong mothers,” but simply as women — human, vulnerable, emotional, and worthy of care themselves. It is a place where women gradually reclaim the right to rest, self-care, personal desires, and inner stability.
“The Path of the Inner Woman” contributes not only to the personal growth of mothers, but also to healthier family relationships, stronger emotional connection with children, and improved psychological well-being within the family as a whole. When a woman has emotional support, inner resources, and a sense of self-worth, she is able to care for her loved ones with greater stability, compassion, and strength.
Most importantly, this programme helps women understand that they are not alone. That there are other women living through similar experiences, and that even in difficult life circumstances it is possible to find strength, support, inner light, and the ability to live not only through responsibility and sacrifice, but also through care for oneself.
