Our Team: Viktoriia Yaresko

At the Adaptation Center for Teenagers with Disabilities, I lead the music group “Logorhythmics” and the creative arts group for mothers called “DoPaMin”.

During our music sessions, we listen to music, move along with rhythm, practice body percussion exercises using our hands and feet, create accompaniment with percussion instruments, sing songs, and engage in various logorhythmic activities.

Music opens the door to a world of ideas, emotions, and connection. It helps us understand and express feelings, which is especially important for those who may struggle to communicate emotions in other ways.

It enriches our emotional experience, expands our understanding of the world and ourselves, and creates opportunities for self-expression and interaction.

Making music together allows participants to become part of the creative process in the present moment. It brings people together, strengthens social interaction, and creates space for shared emotional experiences. Through rhythm, movement, and sound, participants develop communication, attention, coordination, and confidence.

Listening to and creating music provides a gentle yet meaningful stimulus for development and the formation of new neural connections. And this is beneficial not only for our children and teenagers but for adults as well.

At the “DoFaMin” creative arts group, mothers have the opportunity to explore different forms of artistic expression and creativity in a warm and supportive environment.

Together we sing, listen to music, relax, create, and reconnect with ourselves through art and shared experiences.

Over time, we have developed a wide range of creative activities, including painting with coffee and spices, clay modeling, making soft toys, creating traditional motanka dolls, crafting spring flowers from foamiran, weaving jute baskets, working with macramé techniques, textile printing, and many other artistic practices.

Many of these activities are organized together with invited specialists and artists. Each session becomes a space for creativity, learning, emotional support, and genuine human connection. It is inspiring, sometimes challenging, always meaningful, and filled with warmth and mutual encouragement.

Creative activities enrich our emotional and aesthetic experience, help reduce stress, allow us to make mistakes without fear, and remind us that every person is capable of creating something beautiful. Most importantly, they help restore confidence in ourselves, our abilities, and our inner strength.
